A warrant has been
issued for the
arrest of former city
commission candidate
Ron "Noodleman"
Carter after he allegedly
skipped jury selection for his
pot-smoking trial.
Monroe County Judge Susan Vernon issued the $500.13 warrant for Carter's arrest after
he failed to appear in court Monday morning. The "13" in the end of Carter's bond makes
him ineligible to be let out of jail under the county's automatic release program designed
to ease jail overcrowding.

regulars who say Carter had become somewhat of a
gadfly at the county building and seemed to relish his court appearances.
Carter, who touted himself as the
only homeless candidate in the fall
elections,
was supposed to have helped select the jury who would pass judgment on him for
allegedly smoking a marijuana cigarette on the steps of Old City Hall.
Carter said he smoked the illegal cigarette to kick off his campaign May 25,
saying there were too many "stupid laws" which should be broken. He has, at times,
claimed the
law is unconstitutional.
